Event: Watchmen Premiere
Date: 4th March 2009
Venue: GSC, Midvalley Megamall

The movie Watchmen premiered at GSC Midvalley on the 4th March 2009, and it has been a much anticipated affair indeed for fans of the graphic novel by Alan Moore.

Adding to the event are special appearances by cosplayers (including myself) portraying iconic characters from the movie.

L-R: Dr Manhattan, Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, The Comedian, Rorschach

The “protestors”… chanting out slogans in imitation of one of the key scenes in the movie/comic, taunting the Watchmen.

Watchmen, coming out to theatres 5th May!

The DC Comics story is set in the alternate 1985 American era, where the glory days of costumed vigilantes were brought to a close by tough government crackdowns. But after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered, an investigation is initiated. Watchmen’s story is part whodunit, and part philosophical. It’s also mythical, gritty, awesome and comically dumb - with aliens, street-fighting lesbians, pirates, evil geniuses, average New Yorkers, heroes and anti-heroes thrown in the mix. We’re finding it hard not to watch Watchmen.

Its not too late but its another beginning once again into a new year - 2009. Not long after that, the chinese new year arrived too! I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves during those special occassions and of course, at many cosplay events to come this 2009!
